Description

Bordeaux Sciences Agro offers the AGROVITI course, which is linked to the two specialities of ‘Viticulture and Oenology’ and ‘Agroger: Agroecology and Resource Management’. Students who have completed their second year of the agricultural engineering course at Bordeaux Sciences Agro or at a partner engineering school, or who have passed the Master’s examination (in particular those who have taken the Diplôme National d’Œnologue) can follow this course. AgroViti is open to students or apprentices. There is a possibility of a work-study contract during the last 12 months of the engineering course.

Objectives

The aim of the course is to acquire the basics of agroecology and explore its potential for meeting the challenges of wine production. It provides students with the knowledge and methodological tools to evaluate existing agricultural systems, design new ones and support the agroecological transition in winegrowing.

Teaching path

Students from Bordeaux Sciences agro can access the course from S8 engineering or during their 3rd year as an engineer. The course is built around modules offered by two specialisations, ‘Viticulture and Oenology’ and ‘Agroger: Agroecology and Resource Management’, providing knowledge in agronomy, viticulture, pathology, physiology, ecology and oenology.

Target groups

Students who have completed semesters 5, 6 and 7 for access to S8 and their 2nd year of engineering for access to the third year.
Students who have completed their 2nd year of engineering at a partner agricultural engineering school.
Students who have passed the Master’s examination (in particular those who have taken the Diplôme National d’Œnologue)

Vine-growing consultant
Technical managers specialising in agro-ecological crop management (including technical directors of wine estates)
Wine consultant engineer
Research and development engineer
Professional integration: production companies, particularly in the wine industry, inter-professional structures, chambers of agriculture, consultancy structures or consultancy firms, cooperatives, upstream supply companies or public or private research establishments.
