Geopolitics of the Mediterranean and the Middle East: power, conflict and territory.

Description

A researcher from Bordeaux Sciences Agro is currently involved in the “Les Afriques dans le Monde” laboratory at Sciences Politiques. His work is particularly focused on the Middle East (Israel/Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Syria), where the issues of power rivalries, their determinants, the actors involved and the territorial implications of conflict are all raised.

The agrarian dimension of the conflict is also developed; a dimension that is obviously not neutral in terms of food security (and therefore sovereignty and stability), spatial coverage and control of territory, territorial claims and horogenesis, political mobilisation, and land and water disputes, all of which are eminently geopolitical issues.
