“A lecturer visiting my home university sparked my interest in wine”

Manon Von Beek - Bachelor Viticulture and Enology student

Vine & wine Bachelor

Bordeaux Sciences Agro is an agricultural engineering school based in Bordeaux. Many international students come from all over the world, for dual diploma programs, Erasmus+ mobility, the Bachelor Viticulture and Enology or the Master of Science Vineyard and Winery Management… Discover some of them in pictures. In a few words, they describe their backgrounds, experiences and impressions… What is it like to be an international student at Bordeaux Sciences Agro?

I’m Manon van Beek, I’m from the Netherlands and I follow the Bachelor of Science in Viticulture and Enology here in Bordeaux, at Bordeaux Sciences Agro.

At the moment I’m in my third year of my study in the Netherlands, in food innovation and I study at House Green Academy in the Netherlands. I don’t have any previous experience in wine but we had a guest lecture by Mark Greven back at our University and he really intrigued me and sparked my interest in wine, so that’s why I’m here today.

So far, the experience here has been great. It’s been amazing and I’ve actually decided to stay here for the full year instead of just one semester so that pretty much already says I think that it’s a great program and there’s very nice people and also the city of Bordeaux is very nice, so far. So I’m happy to be here.
