Agricultural businesses, from farm to regional level
The Economics Department at Bordeaux Sciences brings together two teams with different approaches to agricultural economics. At farm level, with the “Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Management of Agricultural Enterprises” specialization, which aims to train agricultural engineers to advise and support strategic thinking and the management of these enterprises. And on a territorial scale, with the “Agriculture, proximity and territories from here and elsewhere” specialization, which aims to lead and support projects for sustainable, living territories, as well as to promote local agriculture.
The teaching and research staff who make up this department are specialists in agricultural economics, the geopolitics of agriculture and international development, entrepreneurship and innovation, CSR and consumer behavior, and strategy and management in the business ecosystem.
“Agro Finance Banking” course
Bordeaux Sciences Agro also offers a dual-course program: certification as a “Professional Customer Banking Advisor” with the École supérieure de la banque, and specialization of the agronomy engineering diploma in “Consulting, strategic thinking and management support for agricultural businesses”.
Banks play a major role in financing the activities of agricultural businesses. This course, which is tailored to the specific needs of the agricultural and wine-growing sectors, trains bank advisors and agronomic engineers with in-depth technical knowledge of the agricultural world and skills in farm business management, as well as certified banking advisory skills for professionals.
