“I love the campus! It's a nice close community”

Nicholas - Bachelor Viticulture and Enology student

Vine & wine Bachelor

Bordeaux Sciences Agro is an agricultural engineering school based in Bordeaux. Many international students come from all over the world, for dual diploma programs, Erasmus+ mobility, the Bachelor Viticulture and Enology or the Master of Science Vineyard and Winery Management… Discover some of them in pictures. In a few words, they describe their backgrounds, experiences and impressions… What is it like to be an international student at Bordeaux Sciences Agro?

My name is Nicholas Wasielski, I come from Wisconsin in the United States and I came to this University to get a bachelor in viticulture and enolog.

My background actually… I studied in the US to be a teacher and during that program – it was a four-year bachelor degree – I studied in Geisenheim Germany on a abroad experience, and when I went there, I learned a little bit about wine. Geisenheim is a notorious well-known research school for viticulture and enology, so it was super super interesting to me. When I went back to the US, I finished my program, I taught one year, and then I was like “I need to get a degree in viticulture and enology”. Here, there’s an English-speaking bachelor program, and… here I am.

First of all, I love Bordeaux, it’s super. I wish I spoke French, but um… obviously. I love the city, I love the campus, it’s a nice close community and also to meet other people from different countries, people from France too. It’s a really cool opportunity, but also just everything that’s around going to Arcachon, or Bordeaux or even more places that I still want to go visit… I really like it, it’s a nice part of France for me
