Bordeaux Sciences Agro is an agricultural engineering school based in Bordeaux. Many international students come from all over the world, for dual diploma programs, Erasmus+ mobility, the Bachelor Viticulture and Enology or the Master of Science Vineyard and Winery Management… Discover some of them in pictures. In a few words, they describe their backgrounds, experiences and impressions… What’s it like to be an international student at Bordeaux Sciences Agro?

I am N’Da Aya Ange Carelle, I come from Ivory Coast, precisely from the ESA higher school of agronomy, part of the Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Yamoussoukro. I am here as part of a double graduation: my school of origin which is ESA, in partnership with Bordeaux Sciences Agro and it is a brand new partnership which opened recently, and we are part of the first promotion, and it is really a privilege for me.

I knew the school thanks to ESA’s teachers, who told us that there is this new partnership with Bordeaux Sciences Agro, and it would be really interesting for us to join this school. I also looked at the different courses that they offer, and I was particularly interested in SEMEA who is entrepreneurial strategy and management of agricultural businesses, and since I have a professional project that really fit with this specialty ,I said to myself “wow you have the piece missing in your puzzle to be able to carry out your professional project” and I threw myself into it, I did interviews, and I was accepted. Before that, I did specialized in agro-economics, so this is a pursuing for me.

Yes, it’s going well. I try to integrate, it’s certainly not easy but I try to speak with everyone, like I said during my interviews, I have an ability to adapt to any situation, and so I should prove it through integration. So I try to integrate as best as possible and I talk with friends and everything. I even have international friends. I visited the city of Bordeaux, which is really a beautiful city… Place des Quinconces, rue Sainte-Catherine, etc.
