Valérie Lamothe graduated with a two-year technical degree (BTS) in biological and biotechnological analyses. She is an assistant engineer at Bordeaux Sciences Agro and is actively involved in the scientific projects of the research team ‘Pathophysiology of Declarative Memory’. She conducts in vivo and in vitro experiments and participates in the development and implementation of new ELISA-type Immunoassay for small natural compounds such as phyto-estrogens. She is also responsible for the management of ordering equipment and chemicals, performing and controlling inventory.
Neurosciences : conducting memory tests in animals (radial maze, fear); perfusion and mouse brain sampling ; mouse brain retrieval; histology technical skills; preparations/manipulations related to optogenetic experiments.
Biochemistry and molecular biology: protein assay, electrophoresis, western blot …
Immunology: haptene–protein coupling, immunisation, antibody collection.
Bio-analytical chemistry: development of ELISA immunoassay of phyto-estrogens, routine ELISA and EIA assessment of small compounds in biological mediums, sample preparation, liquid-liquid and solid phase extraction techniques.
